Fire Force

Fire Force (Enen no Shouboutai) is a high-octane action anime by Atsushi Ohkubo (the creator of Soul Eater), set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity was devastated by a massive global fire catastrophe centuries ago.

The story takes place in the Tokyo Empire (the last major surviving city), where people can suddenly undergo spontaneous human combustion, turning into mindless, flame-spewing monsters called Infernals. To combat this threat, a special firefighting organization called the Fire Force is formed, consisting of pyrokinetic users (people with fire-based powers) who fight fire with fire.

The protagonist is Shinra Kusakabe, a young third-generation pyrokinetic (he can control and propel flames from his feet, earning him the nickname "Devil's Footprints" due to his creepy grin when using his powers) who joins Company 8 of the Fire Force. His goal: become a hero, uncover the truth behind his family's tragic death in an Infernal incident years ago, and protect people from the flames.

The series blends intense firefighting battles, supernatural mysteries, conspiracy elements involving religion (the Holy Sol Temple worships the sun god Sol), different generations of pyrokinetics, and a growing larger threat tied to something called the Adolla Burst and the Evangelist.

It's known for its flashy animation (especially the fire effects), over-the-top action, a mix of serious plot with humor/fanservice, and an eccentric cast of characters across the various Fire Force companies.

The anime has three seasons total (the final one wrapped up recently in early 2026), adapting the manga which ties into Soul Eater in its ending. If you like shonen with unique powers, heroic vibes, and fiery spectacle, it's a fun watch!
