Sailor Mercury

Sailor Mercury (civilian name: Ami Mizuno) is one of the Inner Sailor Guardians in the classic 1990s Sailor Moon anime. She's the second Sailor Guardian recruited (after Sailor Moon herself) and serves as the team's strategist and "brains."

In her civilian life, Ami is a quiet, extremely intelligent teenage girl — often portrayed as a top student with exceptional academic talent (frequently topping national exams). She's shy, gentle, kind-hearted, and somewhat socially awkward or insecure at first, preferring books and studying over socializing. Her classmates initially misjudge her reserved nature as arrogance or aloofness, but she warms up quickly once she makes true friends like Usagi.

As Sailor Mercury, she fights under the element of water (with many attacks incorporating ice, mist, or bubbles as well). Her powers focus more on support, analysis, and defense rather than raw offense — she uses techniques like creating fog for cover, freezing enemies, or scanning threats with her high-tech visor and mini-computer. Her iconic catchphrase/introduction is something along the lines of "I am the Pretty Guardian who fights for love and intelligence. I am Sailor Mercury! Douse yourself in water and repent!"

She's loyal, empathetic, and supportive to her friends, often providing calm logic to balance the more impulsive members of the group.
