Lan Fan

Lan Fan is a supporting character in the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood anime (the faithful 2009 adaptation of the manga, widely regarded as the definitive version).

She is the fiercely loyal bodyguard and childhood friend of Ling Yao, the prince of the eastern nation of Xing. As a skilled Xingese warrior trained in stealth and combat, she wears a traditional Chinese-style outfit with a mask covering the lower half of her face (revealing only her sharp, determined eyes).

Lan Fan is portrayed as calm, disciplined, serious, and extremely devoted — willing to sacrifice anything (including her own life) to protect Ling. She is highly proficient in martial arts, uses retractable blade gauntlets hidden in her sleeves, and demonstrates remarkable agility and precision.
