Catherine Elle Armstrong

Catherine Elle Armstrong (often called Catherine or Katherine) is a minor but memorable supporting character in the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist anime (not the Brotherhood version).

She is the younger sister of Alex Louis Armstrong (the Major) and Olivier Mira Armstrong (the General), making her part of the prominent, eccentric Armstrong family.

In the anime (2003 version), Catherine is portrayed as an extremely beautiful young woman with long blonde hair and a delicate, elegant appearance—often described as "the most beautiful woman in the East City" or similar. She has a gentle, refined demeanor that contrasts sharply with her siblings' bombastic, muscular personalities.

Her role is primarily comedic and romantic: she has a brief but intense crush on Major Armstrong, leading to several funny, over-the-top scenes where she swoons over him, writes him love letters, and tries to win his affection. Despite her beauty and charm, her advances are comically one-sided (Armstrong is too dense or oblivious to reciprocate properly), and she often ends up heartbroken or exaggeratedly dramatic.
