Serie is an ancient elf and one of the most powerful and knowledgeable mages in the world of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. She is far older than Frieren (also over a thousand years old) and is often described as a "living grimoire" due to her vast mastery and collection of spells and magical knowledge from the Mythical Era.

She serves as the head of the Continental Magic Association and acts as a key figure in events like the First-Class Mage Exam. Serie has a cold, emotionless demeanor typical of long-lived elves, appears blunt or harsh in her judgments, but is fair and highly perceptive when evaluating magical talent and potential.

She once mentored Flamme (Frieren's own master) and represents a contrasting perspective on immortality and magic compared to the more detached, journey-focused Frieren.
