Frieren

Frieren is the main protagonist of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (Sousou no Frieren).

She is an ancient elf mage who was part of the legendary Hero Party that defeated the Demon King after a ten-year journey. Because elves experience time very differently from humans, what felt like a relatively short adventure to Frieren was an entire lifetime to her human companions.

After the Demon King's defeat, she initially fails to understand the depth of human emotions and relationships. The death of her longtime companion Himmel (the Hero) many decades later becomes the catalyst that makes her regret not knowing him better during their journey. This realization prompts her to embark on a new, very long-term journey to "understand humans" while collecting spells and visiting places tied to her former companions.

Personality-wise, Frieren is:

• Extremely calm and detached
• Insanely powerful (one of the strongest living mages)
• A massive spell otaku (obsessed with collecting and studying magic)
• Socially awkward and slow to form attachments
• Surprisingly lazy about non-magic matters
• Capable of dry, understated humor

She has long silver-white hair, pointed elf ears, and typically wears a plain white-and-blue mage outfit with a striped black-and-white shirt underneath. Her expression is almost always serene or slightly sleepy-looking.

In short: an immortal elf mage who defeated the Demon King… and is now on a very slow, introspective road trip through grief, regret, and rediscovering the meaning of short human lives.
