Hwang Dongsoo

Hwang Dongsoo (황동수) is a Korean-American S-Rank Hunter in the Solo Leveling anime, affiliated with America's Scavenger Guild. He is the younger brother of Hwang Dongsuk (the C-Rank hunter whose raid party was wiped out after betraying Sung Jinwoo).

In the anime adaptation, he appears as a large, muscular man with a buzz-cut black hair, often dressed casually (like a red t-shirt, gray jeans, and a gold chain during his time in Korea). His eyes glow bright red when he's agitated or powering up.

Personality-wise, he's portrayed as arrogant, overconfident, selfish, and ruthless—a classic hot-headed antagonist with little regard for human life. Driven by revenge after learning of his brother's death (which he blames on Jinwoo), he comes across as a brutal, power-hungry meathead who underestimates stronger opponents and acts with murderous intent.

He serves as a key antagonist in arcs involving his pursuit of vengeance against Jinwoo, highlighting his role as a formidable but ultimately outmatched S-Rank threat.
