Min Byung-Gyu (also romanized as Min Byung-Gu or similar) is a supporting character in the Solo Leveling anime, appearing as Korea's only S-Rank healer (and one of the nation's top S-Rank hunters overall).
In the anime version, he's first introduced early on (in Season 1, Episode 1) as part of a past Jeju Island raid party, where he demonstrates his exceptional healing abilities by saving lives in a critical moment. He's portrayed as a thin young man with spiky black hair, pale skin, and black eyes, often dressed in practical attire like a coat and slacks initially, later in raid armor during key events.
Personality-wise, he's depicted as friendly, compassionate, and gentle—someone with a strong aversion to violence and fighting. He retired from active hunting after earlier traumatic experiences on Jeju Island (wanting a peaceful civilian life, like becoming a teacher), but gets pulled back in for the major raid arc. His kind nature shines through in his willingness to support and protect his comrades, especially his close friend Baek Yoonho, despite his reluctance to engage in combat.
He plays a pivotal (and emotional) role during the Jeju Island events in Season 2, highlighting his skills as a top-tier healer while underscoring the high stakes and dangers hunters face.
