Heinkel Astrea

Heinkel Astrea is a character from Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World, introduced in Arc 5 (prominently featured in the anime's third season content).

He is the current head (Patriarch) of House Astrea, the Deputy Commander (Vice-Captain) of Lugunica's Royal Guard, and the father of Reinhard van Astrea (the current Sword Saint). He is also the son of Wilhelm van Astrea (the Sword Demon) and the late Theresia van Astrea (the previous Sword Saint).

Heinkel is a skilled swordsman and wields the Holy Sword Astrea (passed down from his father). Physically, he is described as a muscular man with short red hair, blue eyes, a stubbled beard, and typically wears armor including a black tabard with brown plates and a dark cape.

In personality and role, he is often portrayed as bitter, neglectful in his duties, alcoholic, and somewhat antagonistic or self-serving — driven heavily by desperation to find a cure for his wife Louanna, who has been in an eternal sleep/coma-like state. He aligns with Priscilla Barielle's royal selection camp largely for personal gain related to that goal.

He's a complex supporting/antagonistic figure in later arcs, with a lot of family tragedy and strained relationships shaping his actions.
