Clind

Clind (クリンド) is a supporting character in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World, serving as a skilled and versatile house steward (butler) for Annerose Miload of the Miload family, closely tied to the broader Mathers household and the Emilia Camp.

He appears as a handsome young man in his early twenties with a tall, lean build, slender face, eyebrow-length dark blue hair, golden eyes, and typically wears a sharp black butler uniform accented with a frilly blue tie and a monocle over his left eye.

Personality-wise, Clind is extremely polite, well-mannered, considerate, and highly competent as a servant. He often speaks in a refined manner, sometimes incorporating idioms or light humor while remaining courteous. He has a notable (and controversial) fascination with individuals he describes as having "pure" or "genuine" souls—often children or those who appear youthful and innocent—though he insists it's tied to their inner purity rather than age alone.

In the story (particularly more prominent in the light novels after Arc 4), he assists with training Subaru in combat and survival skills, educates various characters in etiquette and manners, and has deep, long-standing connections to figures like Roswaal (spanning centuries). He remains somewhat mysterious overall, with greater importance emerging in later arcs.
