Drake

Drake (Japanese name: Yūji) is the Supreme Gym Leader (also called Head Leader or Champion) of the Orange Islands League in the Pokémon anime, appearing during the Orange Archipelago arc (episodes 111-112: "Hello, Pummelo!" and "Enter the Dragonite").

He's depicted as a calm, humble, fair, and highly respected trainer — a man of legend on Pummelo Island who had remained undefeated for years until Ash challenged him. Despite his intimidating reputation and powerful team, he's incredibly gracious in battle (and even in defeat), treating opponents with respect and enjoying tough challenges.

He has a cool, confident sailor-like vibe, wearing a white captain's hat and a cape with a Poké Ball emblem. His ace Pokémon is an exceptionally strong Dragonite, which he often flies around on.

Ash's victory over him in a full 6-on-6 battle earned Ash the Winner's Trophy and a spot in the Orange League Hall of Fame. Drake is widely regarded as one of the coolest and most sportsmanlike opponents in the early anime.
