Mu Dan

Mu Dan (also known as one of the Lord Tensen members, specifically the peony spirit) is a major antagonist in the Hell's Paradise anime (Jigokuraku).

In the anime adaptation, Mu Dan appears as a member of the immortal, god-like beings ruling the mysterious island of Kotaku. He has a distinctive look with short, petal-like red hair, golden eyes, and typically wears flowing Taoist-style robes featuring a prominent Yin-Yang symbol. As a Tensen, he can switch between a muscular male (Yang) form and a more slender female (Yin) form, though his primary depiction in key scenes leans toward the male presentation.

Personality-wise, Mu Dan comes across as calm, carefree, and often smiling, but this masks a deeply cruel and sadistic side—he views humans as mere toys or playthings to experiment with and torment, showing particular interest in manipulating and "modifying" them. He specializes in certain mystical Tao arts and plays a key role in confrontations with characters like Yamada Asaemon Sagiri, Yuzuriha, and others from the human expedition party, ultimately meeting his end in a climactic battle.

He's voiced by Junichi Suwabe in his male form in the Japanese version, adding to his charismatic yet menacing presence.
