Himmel

Himmel is the legendary human hero and leader of the Hero Party in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. He was a charismatic, laid-back, and deeply kind swordsman who, alongside Frieren (the elven mage), Heiter (the priest), and Eisen (the warrior), defeated the Demon King after a long journey, bringing peace to the world.

Handsome (with blue hair and a distinctive mole near his eye), he was selfless, always eager to help others, and formed strong bonds with his companions through his genuine compassion and dedication to protecting people. Though he wielded a replica of the legendary Sword of the Hero, his skill, speed, and heroic spirit made him truly exceptional.

After the Demon King's defeat, Himmel lived out his remaining years as a beloved figure, but eventually passed away of old age. His death profoundly impacts Frieren, who—due to her long elven lifespan—regrets not having truly gotten to know him or humanity better during their time together. This regret becomes the driving force behind the series' main story.
