Demon Lord, Retry!

Demon Lord, Retry! (also known as Maou-sama, Retry!) is an isekai anime based on the light novel series.

In it, a regular working adult named Akira Oono, who manages an MMORPG called Infinity Game, decides to shut down the servers after 15 years. Right as he's about to do so, he suddenly finds himself transported into the game world—trapped in the body of his overpowered character, the Demon Lord Hakuto Kunai.

The world is very similar to the game but with some real differences and consequences. He quickly encounters a young girl named Aku (who has a disability and is fleeing danger), defeats threats effortlessly thanks to his maxed-out stats and abilities, and starts gathering companions—like the holy maiden Luna and others he summons or meets.

As the "Demon Lord," his overwhelming power draws attention from kingdoms (like the Kingdom of Holy Light), religious groups, and enemies who see him as a threat. He gets pulled into conflicts, helps people along the way, causes chaos (often unintentionally), and builds a following while trying to figure out who or what summoned him there and how to return to the real world.

It's a lighthearted, comedic isekai with OP protagonist vibes, kingdom-building elements, party adventures, and some satire on game mechanics in a "real" fantasy setting.

There's also a sequel season called Demon Lord, Retry! R (from 2024), which continues the story with more adventures and companions after the events of the first season.

Overall, it's a fun, over-the-top "demon lord in another world" type story, similar in spirit to series like Overlord but more comedic and less dark.
