Yu Kirino

Yu Kirino (also romanized as Yuu Kirino) is a supporting character in the anime Demon Lord, Retry! (Maou-sama, Retry!). She is one of the first NPCs summoned by the protagonist, Hakuto Kunai (the Demon Lord), from his old game Infinity Game.

In the anime adaptation, she appears as a tall, appealing 22-year-old woman with long black hair, often wearing a lab coat, emphasizing her role as a brilliant but unhinged scientist and doctor. She serves as a high-ranking subordinate in Kunai's forces, originally tied to the "Nightless City" area in the game.

Her personality is cold, calculating, and extremely sadistic—she's a mad scientist archetype who delights in human experimentation, dissecting subjects, and pursuing "knowledge about the body" through cruel means, with meticulous records of reactions and changes. She lacks empathy for human emotions, social norms, or ethics, viewing such considerations as pointless. Despite (or because of) her dangerous nature, Kunai is initially wary of summoning her but does so when needed.

She develops loyalty and romantic feelings toward Kunai in the story, and her abilities include powerful healing via her "Hand of God" skill, which lets her transform her fingers into surgical tools to cure illnesses or wounds almost miraculously. She is voiced by Rina Satō in Japanese (and Katelyn Barr in English dubs).

She gets her own focused episode early on ("Yu Kirino"), highlighting her introduction and quirks.
