Reinhard van Astrea

Reinhard van Astrea is one of the most prominent supporting characters in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World. He is the current Sword Saint (a legendary title passed down through his family line), widely regarded as the strongest individual in the Kingdom of Lugunica, and serves as a member of the Royal Guard. He becomes the sworn knight of Felt, one of the candidates in the Royal Selection.

Physically, he is tall (around 6 feet / 184 cm), with striking flaming red hair, blue eyes, and a gallant, handsome appearance. He often wears a variation of the Royal Guard uniform.

In terms of personality, Reinhard embodies the ideal of a perfect knight: chivalrous, humble, kind, selfless, brave, and deeply just. He treats everyone with exceptional respect and politeness, avoids unnecessary violence whenever possible, and readily helps those in need. Despite his overwhelming power and heroic reputation, he carries personal burdens from the heavy expectations placed on him as the "hero" and Sword Saint.

He possesses an extraordinary number of Divine Protections (blessings from the world itself), including the Divine Protection of the Sword Saint, which makes him an unparalleled master swordsman and fighter—often described as the single most powerful being in the series' world.
