Garfiel Tinzel

Garfiel Tinzel (also spelled Tinsel in some sources) is a supporting character in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World, introduced prominently in Season 2 (Arc 4).

He's Frederica Baumann's younger half-brother, a quarter-beast human (demi-human heritage allowing him to transform into a powerful tiger-like beast form). He serves as the former guardian/protector of the Sanctuary (a hidden barrier village) and later becomes a key fighter/military officer in the Emilia Camp.

Appearance: He's a relatively short, muscular teenage boy (around 14–15 years old during his main introduction) with short, spiky golden-blond hair, sharp emerald-green eyes, prominent feline fangs, and a distinctive large X-shaped scar across his forehead.

Personality: Garfiel is hot-headed, impulsive, and fiercely protective (especially of the Sanctuary's residents), with a rough, delinquent-like way of speaking. He starts off deeply suspicious and hostile toward outsiders due to past trauma and a fear of the outside world, but shows growth into a loyal, diligent ally with some chuunibyou flair (like getting impressed by cool names or titles).

He's known for his immense physical strength, beast transformation ability, and nicknames like "Gorgeous Tiger" or "Shield of the Sanctuary."
