Samson Oak is a supporting character in the Pokémon anime, specifically appearing in Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon (the Alola saga).
He serves as the principal of the Pokémon School on Melemele Island in the Alola region. He's the cousin of the well-known Professor Oak from Kanto (they share a strong family resemblance), and like his cousin, he's involved in Pokémon research—particularly focused on regional variants in Alola.
In terms of appearance, he's a tall man with long gray/white hair, tanned skin, brown eyes, and a casual tropical style: typically wearing a short-sleeved teal collared shirt (often with Goldeen patterns), white shorts, and flip-flops.
Personality-wise, he's cheerful, eccentric, and extremely pun-loving—he's famous (or infamous) for frequently making silly Pokémon-themed puns, often accompanied by dramatic visual impressions or poses of the Pokémon in question. This habit tends to embarrass, confuse, or amuse those around him, including students like Ash and the rest of the class.
He's generally portrayed as friendly and enthusiastic, though his over-the-top pun antics are a signature (and sometimes divisive) trait in the series. His main partner Pokémon is a Komala.
