Professor Cozmo

Professor Cozmo (also known as Dr. Soraishi in Japanese) is a minor character in the Pokémon anime, specifically appearing in the Hoenn region arc (Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire).

He's a middle-aged researcher specializing in asteroids and meteorites, driven by curiosity about the unexplained mysteries of the world (particularly those tied to space rocks). In his main episode ("Fight for the Meteorite!"), Ash and friends encounter him at Mt. Chimney, where he's studying a fallen meteorite. Team Magma targets him to steal it for their plans, leading to a conflict where Cozmo prioritizes preventing disaster over keeping his discovery.

Appearance-wise, he's depicted as a middle-aged man with short brown hair, round glasses, a yellow collared shirt under a teal sleeveless jacket, gray pants, black boots, and often carries a gray backpack—giving him a practical, field-researcher look.

He's portrayed as a dedicated, somewhat earnest scientist who's passionate about his work but gets caught up in villainous schemes due to the value of his research. He doesn't appear frequently beyond that key episode (and a couple of minor cameos in later specials).
