Nurse Joy

Nurse Joy is one of the most recognizable recurring characters in the Pokémon anime.

She is a pink-haired, gentle, and consistently cheerful young woman who works as a nurse at almost every Pokémon Center the protagonists visit across all regions. Every Nurse Joy looks virtually identical (same face, hairstyle, uniform, and voice in the Japanese and English dubs), and they are all addressed simply as "Nurse Joy" regardless of the specific city or region.

Key traits in the anime:

• Extremely kind, caring, and professional
• Deeply dedicated to healing Pokémon (and occasionally helping injured trainers)
• Usually accompanied by a Chansey (later sometimes Blissey or Comfey in later series)
• Speaks in a calm, soothing, polite tone
• Often says variations of her classic lines: "We hope to see you again!" or "Your Pokémon are fighting fit!"

While they are all identical in appearance, the anime occasionally gives individual Nurse Joys very slight personality differences (a bit more stern, more clumsy, more enthusiastic about contests, etc.), but the core "Nurse Joy archetype" remains the same throughout the entire series.

She's essentially the anime's universal symbol of Pokémon medical care and hospitality.
