Brock

Brock (known as Takeshi in Japanese) is one of the main characters in the Pokémon anime, particularly in the original series and several later arcs.

He starts as the Gym Leader of Pewter City in the Kanto region, specializing in Rock-type Pokémon (most famously his Onix and Geodude). After Ash defeats him in battle and earns the Boulder Badge, Brock joins Ash and Misty on their journey, leaving the Gym in his father's care so he can pursue his dream of becoming a top Pokémon Breeder (later shifting toward becoming a Pokémon Doctor in later appearances).

Personality-wise, Brock is portrayed as the most mature, level-headed, and responsible member of the group—often acting as the voice of reason, an older brother figure, and the practical caretaker. He's intelligent, knowledgeable about Pokémon care and biology, an excellent cook who handles most of the group's meals, and very family-oriented (having raised his many younger siblings back home).

He's also famously known for his comedic running gag: instantly falling head-over-heels for pretty women (especially Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny), often leading to over-the-top flirtations that get him comically dragged away or shut down by his companions (like Misty pulling his ear or Croagunk poisoning him in later seasons).

Overall, Brock serves as a supportive, wise companion to Ash across multiple regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh), providing guidance, strategy insights during battles, and a grounded contrast to Ash's more impulsive energy.
