Robert E. O. Speedwagon

Robert E. O. Speedwagon is a major supporting character in the anime adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, particularly prominent in Part 1: Phantom Blood (and with a smaller but still notable role in Part 2: Battle Tendency).

He starts as a tough, street-smart thug from the rough Ogre Street in London, complete with a distinctive scar across his face, a long mullet-like hairstyle, and a bowler hat that hides razor blades. Initially an antagonist figure who leads a gang and confronts Jonathan Joestar, Speedwagon quickly recognizes Jonathan's genuine nobility and honor after being defeated in a fight. This leads him to become one of Jonathan's most loyal and enthusiastic allies against Dio Brando.

Speedwagon is hot-blooded, honorable, and incredibly expressive — often dramatically narrating events, explaining situations to the audience, or shouting iconic lines like "OH MY GOD!" or hyping up Jonathan's Ripple techniques. Despite having no supernatural powers or Hamon/Ripple ability himself, he provides crucial support through his street knowledge, resourcefulness, and unwavering friendship. Later in the story, he becomes wealthy (founding the influential Speedwagon Foundation), which continues aiding the Joestar family in future generations.

In the anime, his over-the-top personality, loyalty, and memorable reactions make him one of the most beloved and iconic side characters in the series.
