Kars

Kars is the main antagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's second part, Battle Tendency (the anime adaptation covering episodes roughly 10–26 in the 2012-2013 season).

He serves as the leader of the ancient, superhuman race known as the Pillar Men — a near-extinct group of powerful beings who slumber in stone pillars and possess incredible regenerative abilities, body manipulation, and elemental techniques (his own being the "Light Mode," generating razor-sharp blades from his arms that shimmer like light).

In the anime, Kars is depicted as a tall, extremely muscular man with a lighter skin tone than his companions, long dark wavy hair usually kept under a tight head-wrap (which he dramatically removes in key moments), small horns protruding from his forehead, and minimal clothing — typically just a loincloth-like garment, jewelry, high boots, and occasional accessories like a diadem.

Personality-wise, he's cold, highly intelligent, ruthless, and single-minded, driven by an obsessive desire to overcome his race's one major weakness: vulnerability to sunlight. He created the Stone Masks to unlock greater potential (which work differently on humans vs. Pillar Men), and his ultimate goal is to use the Red Stone of Aja to achieve perfect evolution into an "Ultimate Being" immune to the sun and capable of even greater adaptation.

He's calm and calculating most of the time (often mockingly polite), but shows sadistic tendencies and deep arrogance once he gains overwhelming power. His battles with Joseph Joestar are among the most intense and creative in the part, highlighting his adaptability and menace.
