Honoka Sawada

Honoka Sawada is a supporting character in the Horimiya anime, appearing as a second-year student at Katagiri Senior High School (a year below the main cast like Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura). She's Miyamura's next-door neighbor and underclassman (kouhai).

In terms of appearance, she has long waist-length black hair with distinctive bangs in the middle of her forehead and chin-length strands framing her face, blue-grey eyes, and a small mole under her left eye. She's notably petite (around 150 cm tall) and is often remarked to resemble Miyamura in looks (and sometimes noted to have a vibe similar to Hori).

Personality-wise, she's extremely clingy and affectionate toward Kyouko Hori, having a strong crush on her—she frequently hugs Hori, gets visibly jealous or upset when Hori is with Miyamura, and sees him as a rival for Hori's attention. Despite that initial antagonism, she comes to view Miyamura in a more brotherly light (partly because he reminds her of her late older brother, whom she was very close to). This ties into her having some degree of discomfort or mild fear around boys/men in general, which she gradually works through in her interactions. Overall, she's a mix of bold/straightforward in her feelings, somewhat socially awkward or isolated at first with peers, but endearing in her earnest attachments and growth. Her role adds some sweet (and occasionally comedic) moments to the series' slice-of-life dynamics.
