Rien

Rien is the main antagonist in the Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku anime (also known as Jigokuraku). She serves as the true leader and progenitor of the Lord Tensen (the seemingly immortal beings ruling the island of Kotaku/Shinsenkyo).

In the anime adaptation, Rien appears as a powerful, androgynous-looking figure in her mid-30s with short purple hair (featuring a prominent bang on the left side), purple eyes, and typically wears a purple haori. She possesses immense mastery over Tao (the life energy central to the series' powers), allowing her to regenerate, shift between Yin (female) and Yang (male) forms, create puppets to control remotely, and perform devastating attacks. Her true ancient body is far older and deteriorated due to prolonged existence and experiments.

Driven by an obsessive desire to resurrect her deceased husband Jofuku through forbidden research and Tao manipulation, she views humans as inferior resources (essentially livestock) for harvesting Tao to further her goals. This has left her largely apathetic, with a god complex and no remorse for mass killing or experimentation.

She is portrayed as the most overwhelmingly powerful character encountered, far surpassing the other Tensen in strength and influence.
