Yao Ro Dushi

Yao Ro Dushi (also initially referred to as Yao Haa Dushi in the anime) is a dark elf character from Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakeri (Gate: Thus the JSDF Fought There!). She is over 300 years old but appears as a beautiful woman in her late 20s or early 30s, with caramel-colored (dark) skin, long silver/white hair, pointed elf ears, and yellow eyes. She typically wears practical, warrior-style attire like a mantle and leather bindings.

In the anime, Yao is portrayed as a somber, grimly determined, and desperate warrior from a dark elf clan devastated by the Flame Dragon (the same one that destroyed Tuka's village). Driven by a mission from her elders to secure help from the "green people" (the JSDF) to slay the dragon threatening her remaining people—even at great personal cost—she seeks out the JSDF's aid. She's proud and capable but willing to go to extreme lengths, including manipulation and self-sacrifice, to protect her tribe.

After key events involving the dragon's defeat and revelations about her people's faith, she changes her name to Yao Ro Dushi (honoring Rory Mercury) and becomes part of Itami's group, offering herself in a subservient role while showing loyalty and lingering determination. Her personality comes across as serious, somewhat pessimistic, and deeply motivated by vengeance and duty. Voiced by Yoko Hikasa in Japanese.
