Mari Kurokawa

Mari Kurokawa is a supporting character in the anime Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakeri (Gate: Thus the JSDF Fought There!).

She's a Sergeant First Class in the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) and serves as the medic for the Third Recon Team led by Yōji Itami. As one of the female members of the squad (alongside characters like Kuribayashi), she handles medical duties, treating injuries and providing care during missions in the Special Region.

In the anime adaptation, she's depicted as a tall (around 175 cm / ~5'9"), beautiful young woman with long black hair (often in a half-ponytail style) and blue eyes. Personality-wise, she comes across as calm, composed, and reserved—almost ladylike in demeanor—but she has a sharp, sarcastic, or "malicious" tongue when annoyed or when calling out nonsense (especially toward Itami's otaku tendencies or questionable decisions). She deeply cares about her teammates' safety and well-being.
