Momiji Sohma

Momiji Sohma is one of the cursed members of the Sohma family in the Fruits Basket anime (including the 2019 reboot), representing the Rabbit of the Chinese Zodiac. He transforms into a small blonde rabbit when hugged by someone of the opposite sex or under significant stress.

In terms of appearance, Momiji looks much younger than he is—often mistaken for an elementary schooler despite being around 15 years old at the start (only a year younger than Tohru Honda). He has short, wavy blonde hair, large light-brown/golden eyes, a petite and cute build, and an androgynous vibe. In his first year of high school, he notably wears the girls' version of the school uniform (with shorts instead of a skirt), which he finds cute and suits his style.

Personality-wise, Momiji is extremely bubbly, cheerful, energetic, and fun-loving, almost always smiling and acting playful or childlike. He loves sweets (often seen with candy or pastries), speaks with a mix of Japanese and occasional German phrases (reflecting his half-German heritage from his mother), and quickly becomes one of Tohru's closest friends among the Sohmas. Despite his sunny, carefree exterior and mischievous side, he hides a deeply sad family background and shows surprising emotional maturity, insight, and resilience in tougher moments.
