Kagura Sohma

Kagura Sohma is a recurring character in the Fruits Basket anime (both the 2001 version and the 2019 reboot), representing the Boar (Pig) of the Chinese Zodiac among the cursed Sohma family members.

She appears as a cute, petite young woman with fair skin, big round dark brown eyes, and straight dark brown hair (often left down or styled in side braids with ribbons). She's feminine in style, frequently wearing dresses or skirts, and has a generally sweet, childish, and girlish demeanor that makes her seem very approachable and kind-hearted.

However, Kagura has a dramatic dual nature: she's incredibly strong-willed, impulsive, and possesses immense physical strength (fitting her zodiac animal). This often manifests in explosive outbursts, especially around Kyo Sohma, whom she's obsessively in love with and insists is her fiancé (stemming from a childhood promise she forced out of him). She frequently berates him, beats him up in comedic fashion when angry or excited, and shows intense, near-over-the-top affection—creating a sharp contrast with her otherwise polite and caring personality.

In the anime, her interactions highlight this "sweet on the outside, destructive force of nature" side, particularly in her visits to Shigure's house and her complicated feelings toward Kyo. She's a supportive "older sister" type to others in the family when not caught up in her emotions, and her character adds a lot of humor and energy to the series.
