Azami Nakiri

Azami Nakiri (also known by his birth name Azami Nakamura) is a major antagonist in Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma. He is Erina Nakiri's biological father and the former director (headmaster) of Tōtsuki Culinary Academy.

A Tōtsuki alumnus from the school's 71st generation (part of the legendary "Golden Age" of Polar Star Dormitory and a former Elite Ten member), Azami was once banished from the Nakiri family and the academy by Erina's grandfather, Senzaemon Nakiri. He later returns dramatically, orchestrating a takeover to become the new director.

Azami is an extreme elitist and perfectionist in cooking, believing only the absolute best chefs deserve to exist and that most food/dishes are worthless "fodder." He enforces a rigid, centralized control over Tōtsuki, aiming to reshape it into an institution that produces only elite talent under his strict vision. His methods include psychological and emotional abuse, most notably the harsh, traumatic training he inflicted on his daughter Erina from a young age to hone her "God's Tongue" ability and mold her into his ideal of perfection.

Overall, he's portrayed as arrogant, manipulative, and authoritarian, serving as a key figure in the Central arc of the series.
