Megumi Tadokoro

Megumi Tadokoro is one of the main heroines in Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma (Shokugeki no Soma).

She's a student at the elite Tōtsuki Culinary Academy from a rural fishing town in Tohoku, Japan, who attends the school to become a chef and support her family's ryokan (traditional inn) back home.

Megumi is known for her clumsy, timid, and extremely shy personality — she's polite, kind-hearted, honest, and nurturing, always speaking in a gentle, formal tone. She struggles a lot with pressure and stage fright (especially around crowds), which initially causes her to underperform despite her solid cooking skills and careful, precise techniques (like artistic ingredient prep and a strong focus on hospitality and using every part of the ingredients thoughtfully).

Over the course of the series, especially after befriending and teaming up with Soma Yukihira, she gradually gains confidence, shows impressive growth, and becomes a reliable, supportive friend in the Polar Star Dormitory group. Her cooking style emphasizes warmth, care for the diner, and hometown-inspired ingredients.
