The Quintessential Quintuplets (original title: Go-Tōbun no Hanayome or The Five Equal Brides) is a popular romantic comedy anime (with harem elements) based on Negi Haruba's manga.
The story follows Futaro Uesugi, a brilliant but poor high school student from a struggling family. To help pay off debts, he takes on a high-paying tutoring job—only to discover his new students are five identical quintuplet sisters (the Nakano quintuplets: Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki) who are wealthy, beautiful, and notoriously bad at studying, putting them at risk of failing and not graduating.
The series starts with Futaro clashing with the sisters (who initially hate the idea of a tutor), but he gradually builds trust, helps them improve academically, and gets drawn into their chaotic family life. Romantic feelings develop over time, with the mystery of which quintuplet Futaro will end up marrying framed by a flash-forward to his wedding day (the bride's identity is a big reveal later on).
It's a fun, character-driven rom-com full of humor, sibling dynamics, heartfelt moments, and classic "which girl will he choose?" tension across two seasons plus a movie that wraps up the story.
If you're into lighthearted high school romance with great character growth for the sisters, it's a solid watch!
