Futaro Uesugi

Futaro Uesugi is the main male protagonist of The Quintessential Quintuplets (5-toubun no Hanayome).

He is a high-school student from a poor family, extremely studious, highly intelligent, and prideful about his academic abilities. Known for his serious, no-nonsense personality, excellent grades, and strong work ethic, he takes on the role of private tutor for the five Nakano quintuplet sisters — who are all struggling academically — in order to earn money for his family.

Futaro is typically seen as:

• Blunt and straightforward (sometimes to the point of being tactless)
• Extremely logical and rational
• Socially awkward and initially bad at dealing with people/emotions
