Slader

Slader (also romanized as Slader or Sureidā in Japanese) is a prominent Holy Knight in the anime adaptation of The Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai). He serves as the leader of the elite squad Dawn Roar (sometimes called Roars of Dawn or Twilight Roar in translations).

He is depicted as a very tall (around 210 cm), muscular man with long, unkempt dark blue hair. He always wears a distinctive iron/steel mask that conceals his face and gives him a stern, intimidating appearance. He wields a massive, serrated dual-edged sword (often described as saw-toothed or jagged) that he handles with surprising ease despite its size.

In the anime, Slader initially appears as a loyal servant of the Kingdom of Liones, deeply devoted to King Bartra after the king rescued him from a traumatic childhood where he was kidnapped and raised by brutal savages. This backstory fuels his unwavering resolve to protect the kingdom and hunt down its enemies.

He has a notable rivalry with Gowther of the Seven Deadly Sins, stemming from early encounters and orders involving Gowther. Slader speaks in a somewhat feminine or eccentric tone while masked/on duty, but his true personality is calm, logical, cool-headed, and compassionate toward allies and innocents. Despite his eccentric side and leadership of a quirky team, he's respected for his strength and dedication.

He plays supporting roles across multiple seasons, including interactions with the Sins during arcs involving threats to Liones, the Ten Commandments, and later events where he aids or accompanies them. His ability includes Overpower, which lets him freeze enemies in place through sheer intimidation/pressure.

Overall, he's a powerful, loyal Holy Knight ally who starts off somewhat antagonistic but grows into a reliable figure aligned with the protagonists.
