Melty Q Melromarc

Melty Q. Melromarc is the second princess (and crown princess/heir to the throne) of the kingdom of Melromarc in the anime The Rising of the Shield Hero. She is the younger daughter of Queen Mirellia Q. Melromarc and King Aultcray, and notably the opposite of her older sister Malty (Myne/Bitch) in terms of character.

In the anime, Melty is depicted as a young girl (around 10 years old) with a childlike appearance: she has long blue hair styled in curly twin pigtails tied with ribbons, blue eyes, and an overall blue-purple color scheme. She typically wears elegant, frilly royal dresses in blue and white tones fitting her princess status.

Personality-wise, she initially presents herself as polite, composed, and mature for her age—befitting a royal heir raised under her mother's influence to be fair and responsible. However, this is partly a persona she maintains in public; her true self is more like a normal child who can be playful, emotional, stubborn, and outspoken, especially once she joins Naofumi's party after fleeing an assassination attempt and seeking his protection. She's kind-hearted, values justice and equality (including toward demi-humans and commoners), shows genuine care for her friends (notably forming a close, wholesome bond with Filo), and grows to trust and support the Shield Hero despite her kingdom's initial bias against him. She uses water magic in combat and often acts as a voice of reason or moral compass in the group.
