Ratotille Anthreya

Ratotille Anthreya, commonly nicknamed Rat, is a supporting character introduced in The Rising of the Shield Hero anime starting from Season 3.

She is an eccentric human alchemist and monster expert from the country of Faubrey (also referred to as Forbrey in some translations), where her controversial experiments led to her exile. Queen Mirellia sends her to Naofumi Iwatani's village (as a slave under his management) to assist with monster breeding, research, and related alchemical work, particularly to help strengthen the village's forces.

In the anime, she's portrayed as a passionate "mad scientist"-type figure—highly dedicated to her alchemy and monster experimentation, often disregarding social norms or etiquette in pursuit of her research. She has a sultry appearance with long platinum-blonde hair, tanned skin, and a confident, unconventional demeanor.

She becomes part of the village's support cast, contributing her expertise to projects like raising and modifying monsters (including interactions with characters like the young dragon Gaelion). Her role emphasizes her skills as a brilliant but unorthodox alchemist rather than frontline combat.
