Glass

Glass is a key character in the anime adaptation of The Rising of the Shield Hero. She originates from a parallel world threatened by the Waves of Calamity and is known as the Fan Hero (or Vassal Fan wielder), a powerful fighter who uses a magical fan as her weapon.

In the anime, she first appears as a mysterious and formidable antagonist during the Third Wave and later events (such as around Cal Mira), where she invades Naofumi's world alongside allies like L'Arc, driven by the desperate belief that killing the Legendary Heroes (the Four Holy Heroes) of Naofumi's world is necessary to save her own from destruction.

She has a stoic, serious, cold, and disciplined personality — calm under pressure, highly honorable, and loyal to her cause and her close friend Kizuna (the Hunting Hero). She shows disdain for weakness, particularly criticizing the other Cardinal Heroes (Ren, Motoyasu, and Itsuki) for their lack of seriousness and strength, while eventually developing respect for Naofumi as a capable and genuine hero.

Visually in the anime, she's depicted as an elegant, beautiful young woman from a race of spirit people, with long black hair in a traditional hime-cut style, pale/translucent skin, striking red eyes, and typically wearing a striking black kimono with silver embroidery that gives her a solemn, almost funeral-like traditional Japanese aesthetic.

Over the course of the story (especially in Season 2), her role evolves from enemy to ally as circumstances and alliances shift. She remains a poised, duty-bound warrior throughout.
