Abernyu

Abernyu (also spelled Aberuniyū) is the Goddess of Destruction in The Misfit of Demon King Academy anime. She is the divine entity who maintains the fundamental order of destruction in the world—essentially responsible for all forms of death, decay, and destruction that occur across demons, humans, spirits, gods, and everything else. This makes her existence a necessary but tragic part of the cosmic balance, as without destruction, life and creation would spiral out of control.

In the anime (particularly in Season 2 arcs involving gods and deeper lore), Abernyu is portrayed as a sorrowful figure who never truly desired her role as an embodiment of despair and perishing. She is the twin sister of Militia (the Goddess of Creation), and the two are deeply interconnected—bound by their opposing orders, so the fate of one affects the other.

A major plot element is her connection to Sasha Necron, as Abernyu was reincarnated into Sasha (with Anos Voldigoad's involvement helping to free her from her burdensome divine order). This ties into themes of love, sacrifice, and breaking free from predetermined roles, with Abernyu having had a significant romantic attachment to Anos in the ancient past.

Her presence in the anime emphasizes philosophical and emotional depth amid the series' overpowered action, highlighting how even gods can feel burdened by their own nature.
