Gazel Apt Ageila

Gazel Apt Ageila (also spelled Gazel Apt Agueila in some transliterations) is a character who appears in the anime adaptation of The Misfit of Demon King Academy, specifically in Season 2 (Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha II).

He is one of the Selected Eight (participants in a divine Selection Trial), a holy knight/saint from the country of Jiordal, and a Draconid. He is a devout follower of the gods, particularly associated with the Almighty Radiance and gods like the God of Brilliance (Jiosselia), the God of Light, and the God of Piercing.

In the story, he confronts the protagonist Anos Voldigoad during events involving the Underground World and the Selection Trial. He wields powerful divine abilities, including summoning gods into himself or his weapons, moving at light speed, and using a divine spear. Despite his impressive power and regeneration support from gods, he is ultimately overpowered by Anos, who destroys his summoned gods. Later plot developments involve his revival via a pledge jewel, betrayal/excommunication by a superior (Ahid), and his eventual death/suicide out of remorse, with some intervention from Arcana.

He serves as an antagonist in his arc, representing zealous faith in the gods and opposition to Anos. No major spoilers beyond that for anime viewers—he's a short-term but memorable foe highlighting themes of divine power versus Anos's overwhelming strength.
