Gyokuyou

Gyokuyou (also known as Lady Gyokuyou or Precious Consort Gyokuyou) is one of the High Consorts in the inner palace of The Apothecary Diaries anime. She resides in the Jade Pavilion and is the Emperor's current favorite among the consorts.

In the anime (Season 1), she's portrayed as a kind, warm, wise, and benevolent figure with a witty and charismatic personality. She's notably protective of those around her, including her attendants and young daughter Princess Lingli, which inspires strong loyalty in return. Despite her high status and maturity as a consort and mother, she occasionally shows a more playful or lighthearted side.

She's the first consort Maomao serves directly after being assigned to the inner palace, and her interactions highlight her intelligence and influence in the court. Voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki in Japanese, she stands out as one of the most likable and capable figures in the imperial harem setting.
