Rigurd

Rigurd is one of the earliest and most loyal allies of Rimuru Tempest in the anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.

He first appears as the frail, elderly chief (village elder) of a struggling goblin village, approaching Rimuru for protection from threats like direwolves. He's depicted as weak, wrinkled, unsteady on his feet, and reliant on a walking stick, with his eyes often half-closed due to age.

After Rimuru names him "Rigurd," he evolves into a hobgoblin. This transformation dramatically rejuvenates him, turning him into a tall, muscular, robust adult with a much younger and stronger appearance—he often flexes proudly to show off his new body.

In personality, Rigurd is deeply devoted and loyal to Rimuru, sometimes to a comically over-the-top degree, providing lighthearted comic relief through his enthusiastic (and occasionally silly) admiration. Despite this, he's competent and reliable, eventually becoming the Goblin King (and later Prime Minister) of the Jura Tempest Federation, handling internal administration, diplomacy, and leadership duties when Rimuru is away. He's also shown to be a proud father, particularly toward his son Rigur.
