Rimuru Tempest is the main protagonist of the anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken). Originally a 37-year-old Japanese salaryman named Satoru Mikami, he dies in a stabbing incident and is reincarnated in a fantasy world as a slime—the weakest and most unremarkable monster type.

In the anime, Rimuru's default form is a small, spherical, slightly translucent blue ooze (starting around 40 cm in diameter and growing larger over time as they become more powerful). They can shapeshift into a cute, androgynous human appearance resembling a teenage youth (around 15–16 years old) with long silver-blue hair, golden eyes, and delicate, almost feminine features—though biologically genderless, Rimuru retains a male mindset from their past life and is voiced in a high-pitched, feminine tone that often leads to gender confusion.

Personality-wise, Rimuru is laid-back, intelligent, kind-hearted, and pragmatic, with a quirky, somewhat childish side despite their adult memories. They are benevolent and deeply care for their allies (treating them like family), but can be cunning, ruthless toward enemies, and protective to an extreme when those close to them are threatened. Rimuru is driven by a desire to create a peaceful world where different races coexist, often using diplomacy, clever strategies, and overwhelming power.

Their signature abilities revolve around predation/absorption (devouring enemies to gain their skills and powers), the analytical Great Sage (later evolving into more advanced forms like Raphael), rapid evolution, regeneration, and versatile magic/mimicry. This allows Rimuru to start weak but quickly grow into one of the strongest beings in the world, eventually becoming a Demon Lord and founding the monster nation of Tempest.

Overall, Rimuru stands out as a relatable, overpowered isekai hero who combines immense strength with a focus on nation-building, friendship, and fairness rather than pure conquest.
