Haruto Satou

Haruto Satou (also referred to as Satou Haruto) is the main protagonist of the Tales of Wedding Rings anime. He's a regular high school boy from Earth who has been deeply in love with his childhood friend and neighbor, Krystal Novaty (whom he calls Hime), ever since she mysteriously appeared in his world 10 years ago alongside the Great Sage Alabaster.

In the story, when Hime returns to her home world to fulfill her royal duty by marrying a prince, Haruto follows her through a portal. He ends up crashing the wedding ceremony, and in the chaos (involving an attack from the Abyss), Hime kisses him and transfers the Ring of Light to him, making him the new Ring King—a destined hero meant to wield great power and marry multiple Ring Princesses to save the world.

Personality-wise, Haruto is portrayed as a kind-hearted, loyal, and determined guy who starts off somewhat shy or ordinary (he's even called plain or "homely" in-universe by some characters). Despite his initial inexperience and ordinary background, he shows bravery, protectiveness toward those he cares about (especially Hime), and a strong sense of fairness as he navigates his unexpected role and relationships. He's driven primarily by his genuine feelings for Hime and a desire to do right by everyone involved.

In the anime adaptation, his design features typical teenage looks: black hair parted in front, a regular/average build, and he starts in his school uniform before adapting to the fantasy world setting.
