Prince Marse

Prince Marse (full name Marmarugias Gisaras) is a supporting character in the Tales of Wedding Rings anime. He is the second prince of the powerful Gisaras Empire and was originally arranged to marry Hime (Krystal Novaty Nokanatika), the princess of the Kingdom of Light, so he could become the prophesied Ring King and wield great power for his empire's benefit.

In the anime's early events, Satou interrupts the wedding ceremony, leading Hime to choose him instead as her husband and the Ring King. Marse handles this displacement relatively gracefully—he's not portrayed as a bitter antagonist. He's depicted as a gentle, kind-hearted, and somewhat insecure individual who is often looked down upon in his merit-based empire (partly due to his status as a bastard child of the emperor). His kinder personality is sometimes seen as a weakness by others in his homeland.

He is genuinely in love with Saphira (a princess from the dragon kingdom of Maasa), and part of his motivation for wanting to become the Ring King was to secure a future where they could be together under the arranged marriage rules. After the shift to Satou, this creates some initial complications and emotional tension for him, but he ultimately becomes an ally to the protagonists, showing dedication to protecting the kingdom and supporting Satou in his role as the hero.

Overall, Marse comes across as righteous, supportive, and willing to aid the greater cause despite personal setbacks.
