Piers

Piers is a character from the Galar region who appears in Pokémon Journeys: The Series (specifically in the episode "Battling Turned Up to Eleven!").

He is the former Gym Leader of Spikemuth (specializing in Dark-type Pokémon) and the older brother of Marnie, whom he supports wholeheartedly as she takes over the Gym Leader role. Piers has a laid-back, somewhat apathetic and tired demeanor on the surface, but he's actually kind, helpful, and deeply caring—especially toward his hometown and sister.

A passionate singer and performer, he treats his Pokémon battles like rock concerts. In the anime, he helps Ash after Team Yell (his overly enthusiastic former Gym Trainers) causes trouble, even giving Ash a ride to make it to his match against Marnie on time. His only known Pokémon in the anime is Obstagoon. Overall, he's portrayed as a cool, brooding big brother figure with a hidden soft side.
