Opal

Opal is the Fairy-type Gym Leader of Ballonlea in the Galar region, appearing in the Pokémon Journeys: The Series anime.

She is portrayed as an elderly woman — old, wrinkled, with white hair, hunched over, pale-skinned, and featuring a long, pointy nose that gives her a witch-like appearance. Despite her age and looks, she has a mischievous, playful, and eccentric personality, often teasing challengers with tricky quizzes or unconventional challenges (like making people wear pink outfits for wrong answers or hosting whimsical events such as cake-decorating contests).

In the anime, she notably interacts with Ash, Goh, and Chloe in Ballonlea episodes, using her quizzes to guide situations cleverly, and she later battles Ash with her signature Alcremie (including a Gigantamax form), showcasing her Fairy-type expertise in a fun but tricky way. She's the oldest Gym Leader depicted and has held her position for a very long time.
