Chairman Rose

Chairman Rose is a major character in the anime Pokémon Journeys: The Series, serving as the chairman of the Galar Pokémon League and the president of the massive corporation Macro Cosmos.

Appearance: He's depicted as a tall, handsome, tan-skinned man with black hair, green eyes, and neatly trimmed facial hair. He has a somewhat portly build (with a round belly that's not very noticeable under his usual attire).

Personality and role: On the surface, he comes across as approachable, amiable, and charismatic—often praising talented Trainers like Leon (whom he supported early in his career) and even interacting positively with Ash at times. However, he harbors a darker agenda. In the anime, he's portrayed as more overtly villainous and antagonistic compared to his game counterpart (who is more well-meaning but misguided). He's arrogant, impulsive, ruthless, and manipulative when pursuing his goals, willing to endanger lives and ignore consequences to achieve what he sees as necessary for Galar's future energy security—such as attempting to revive an ancient threat to harness unlimited power.

He uses Steel-type Pokémon in battles and acts as a key antagonist during the Galar-focused story arc involving the Darkest Day events.
