About Lenora

Lenora (known as Aloe in Japanese) is the Normal-type Gym Leader of Nacrene City in the Unova region, appearing in Pokémon the Series: Black & White.

In the anime, she's portrayed as a knowledgeable and wise archaeologist who also directs the Nacrene City Museum. She's married to Hawes (the museum curator). She has a calm, intellectual demeanor, values studying and understanding Pokémon (and challengers) before battles, and often incorporates clever tactics like forcing opponents to switch Pokémon or confusing them during Gym battles.

Physically, she's depicted as a tall Black woman with curly teal/cyan hair, blue eyes, red lipstick, typically wearing a white dress shirt with a ribbon, teal pants, orange shoes, a striped headband, and (in the original Japanese version) a khaki apron with pockets—though the English dub removed the apron from her animated appearances.

She battles Ash twice: first defeating him using strategy with her Pokémon (including Watchog and Lillipup), then rematching him after he trains, where her team (now including Herdier) puts up a strong fight before he wins the Basic Badge.

Overall, she's shown as a strong, capable, and nurturing figure passionate about history, knowledge, and Pokémon battles.
