Kiawe

Kiawe (known as Kaki in Japanese) is one of the main supporting characters in the Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon anime. He is a student at the Pokémon School on Melemele Island and one of Ash Ketchum's classmates and closest friends/rivals in the Alola region.

He is a muscular, dark-skinned (tanned) young man with distinctive red-and-brown hair styled to resemble flames. His typical outfit includes red shorts with black outlines, sandals, a black necklace, and feather-like accessories on his shoulders—he usually goes shirtless. He specializes in Fire-type Pokémon and is a Trial Captain (specifically for Wela Volcano Park in the games, though adapted in the anime).

Personality-wise, Kiawe is serious, calm, and often acts as the mature, level-headed voice of reason in the group. He can be intense or overreact in certain situations (especially when passionate about battles or family), but he's reliable and hardworking. He helps out on his family's ranch in Paniola Town and has a soft spot for his younger sister Mimo, being quite protective of her.

His main Pokémon partners include Turtonator (his primary battler, capable of using powerful Z-Moves like Inferno Overdrive), Charizard (a gift from his grandfather, often used for flying/transport around Alola), and Marowak (an Alolan variant he caught after a dramatic encounter, known for its hot-headed nature and dancing).

Overall, he's portrayed as a strong, passionate trainer with a deep respect for Alolan traditions and Fire-types.
