Kabu

Kabu is the Fire-type Gym Leader of Motostoke Stadium in the Galar region, appearing in the anime primarily in Pokémon Horizons: The Series (he did not have a major role in Pokémon Journeys).

In the anime adaptation, he's portrayed as a middle-aged man with salt-and-pepper hair, black eyes, and a fit, athletic build (noticeably muscular legs from his active lifestyle). He typically wears a red polo shirt featuring a fire symbol, layered over a long-sleeved black-and-red undershirt, white shorts with red/black accents, matching red socks and shoes, a towel draped around his neck, and a single thumbless glove on his right hand (along with a Dynamax Band).

Personality-wise, Kabu is disciplined, strict, and passionate about training—he's known for his intense work ethic, often going jogging or exercising on his days off. He pushes challengers hard in battles, expecting them to give their all and constantly improve their skills and motivation. He's also shown as knowledgeable (e.g., about certain Legendary Pokémon like Shiny Rayquaza in Horizons) and respectable among other characters.

His signature Pokémon includes Centiskorch, aligning with his fiery, relentless battling style.
